life and career

Portia Doubleday was born in the early summer of 1988 in Los Angeles , California, where she grew up and lived almost her entire life. Through her parents and partly also through her older sister, who all also appear or appeared as professional actors and, among other things, all belong to the Screen Actors Guild , the youngest Doubleyday offspring also found their way into film over time. and television business. The young acting talent finally had her first use at the age of eight when she was seen in a commercial for goldfish snack, before she was booked for her first film role only shortly afterwards. She played in the 1997/98 film Legend of the Mummy, the younger version of Margaret Trelawny , who was embodied in the adult form by Amy Locane . After that, however, her parents decided that she should finish her schooling through high school first before returning to acting. In the end she did, and attended the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies , a magnet school in western Los Angeles. After her mother largely ended her acting career at the end of the 1980s, and from this point onwards she mainly tried her hand as a screenwriter and theater producer, Portia's father did the same at the beginning of the 1990s and ended his acting career. Due to the fact that their parents now had more time again, the parents decided to support their youngest daughter as best they could. At an advanced age she was cast for the pilot episode of Taras Welten , where she was supposed to appear as the daughter of the main character. Due to some discrepancies in the creative team around the inventor of the series Diablo Cody , Doubleday finally did not make it into the production of the subsequent series and had to leave the cast immediately. In 2009 she celebrated her real breakthrough when she was first seen in the short film 18 as Becky , where she portrayed a girl who has to decide whether the life-support devices should be left at her mother's bedside. Immediately thereafter, she was in Youth in Revolt in another leading role as Sheeni Saunders in front of the camera. In the following year she was featured in a short film in In Between Days , but also made it to one of the leading roles in the drama Almost Kings . She made her real debut in the international film business in 2011, when the film Big Mama's House - The Double Portion was released, in which she played an essential role. She also came in the short-lived television series Mr. Sunshine , which however was broadcast internationally, to another lead role, where she was used in most of the episodes produced. As of January 2010, she was studying psychology at the college level when she was also considering pursuing another degree in the medical field. In an article in the Los Angeles Times , Doubleday, who played soccer for over twelve years, calls herself a tomboy . As of January 2010, she was also working on a film based on an award-winning short film that was to be released under the name Touchback . She was also working with her fellow actor Alex Frost on another short film that was directed by Marvin Jarrett , the inventor of " Nylon Magazine ".
