Prairie Village is a small town in the US state of Kansas . It has 21,447 inhabitants (as of 2010). It is located in Johnson County and is a suburb of Kansas City .

Mayor is Laura Wassmer . There is a town twinning with Dolyna (Ukraine) and since 2000 with Schaerbeek / Schaarbeek (Belgium).

Prairie Village has an area of 16.08 km 2 ; 16.06 km 2 of this is land and 0.02 km 2 is water. Prairie Village is bordered by Overland to the west and Kansas City to the east. Fairway and Mission Hills are to the north and Leawood to the south . Brush Creek flows through the northwestern part of the urban area.
