Pratt & Whitney R-1535
The Pratt & Whitney R-1535 Twin Wasp Junior was an aircraft engine manufactured by the US American manufacturer Pratt & Whitney in 1932. The R-1535 was the first double radial engine (2 × 7 cylinder) from the company's Wasp engine series and was the predecessor of the R-1830 Twin Wasp built in large numbers until 1951 .
The Twin Wasp Junior was an air-cooled 14-cylinder double radial engine with a displacement of 1535 cubic inches (approx. 25.2 liters). Its performance corresponded roughly to that of the 9-cylinder radial engine R-1690 Hornet , from which he a. a. differed by a smaller diameter. However, since it was heavier and more expensive, it found few buyers.
