The Pratt & Whitney F135 is an afterburner - jet engine , especially for the Lockheed Martin F-35 . The F135 is available in 3 different versions and also as a STOVL version.

The F135 was developed from the P&W F119 used in the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor . Technologies from the Russian aircraft manufacturer Jakowlew ( Jak-141 ) were also used.

  • F135-PW-100: Used in the F-35A. The F-35A is a CTOL aircraft.
  • F135-PW-400: Used in the F-35C. The F-35C is one of the STOL aircraft.
  • F135-PW-600: Used in the F-35B. The F-35B is one of the STOVL aircraft.
