The Premium do Brasil is a fruit juice tanker operated by the shipping company Citrosuco Europe that can transport containers on deck .

history

The hull of the fruit juice tanker was built by Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries in 2002 and expanded, fully equipped and delivered in 2003 by the Norwegian shipyard Kleven Floro. The ship was put into service by the shipping company Citrosuco Europe under the Liberian flag .

Ship description

The low- speed two-stroke main diesel engine from Wärtsilä-Sulzer of the type 7RTA 84C generates a nominal output of 28 MW at a nominal speed of 102 / min, drives a variable-pitch propeller and gives the ship a nominal speed of 21  kn . A shaft generator with an output of 1,200 kW is driven by the main motor for power supply . In addition, three auxiliary diesels of the type 8L 20 with around 1,500 kW each are available for power supply. When maneuvering, the steering gear is supported by a bow thruster .

The fruit juice tanker Premium Do Brasil has four insulated holds like a typical refrigerator ship but without tween decks with high load compartments equipped. In the front cargo area there are four floor-to-ceiling stainless steel tanks for the transport of orange juice, which is driven at a temperature of 0 ° C. In the other three holds there are also four stainless steel tanks each, which can be operated with orange juice concentrate at a temperature of −10 ° C. The ship can transport a total of 37,000 t of orange juice or orange juice concentrate in the tanks. The tanks and the lines are filled with nitrogen when empty; the areas for orange juice concentrate are then run at a temperature of −10 ° C.

The cargo cooling system uses ammonia as refrigerant in the primary system and brine in the secondary system to cool the individual cargo holds.

The deckhouse with the living and utility rooms for 30 people, the bridge house and the engine room are located aft. The free-fall lifeboat for 30 people is also located here .

Others

The ship has a sister ship , the Carlos Fischer .
