The BrauManufaktur Härke GmbH (formerly private brewery Härke GmbH & Co. KG) is a 1890 brewery founded by Ernst Härke in Peine. The main product, Härke Pils, is known for its bitter taste.

history

In 1890 Ernst Härke from Anderten near Hanover bought the Rauls'sche brewery and the beer that went with it. In 1907 the name was changed to "E. Härke Brewery". After the death of her husband, Elise Härke took over the management from 1914, and after her death in 1927 her son Heinrich became the head of the brewery. During this time, the new construction of the now listed brewery building began based on a design by the architect and city builder Anton van Norden (1879–1955). When Heinrich Härke died in a traffic accident in 1945, his widow Änny Härke took over the management. "Härke Bier-Vertriebs GmbH" was founded in 1949, and one year later Willy Schneider took over the commercial management of the company.

In 1971 the company was transformed into "Härke Brauerei KG", of which Hans-Peter Härke became the managing director. In 1982 the name was changed to "Privatbrauerei Härke KG", and Rainer Schneider took over the position of technical manager. In 1990 the company celebrated its 100th anniversary. In 1997 Matthias Härke took over the company's finances and controlling , and since 2002 Martin Härke has been the head brewer . In 2007 the Härke KG private brewery was converted into the “Härke Private Brewery GmbH & Co. KG”. Matthias and Martin Härke were accepted as limited partners .

In September 2011 the management announced that they had concluded a cooperation agreement with Einbecker Brauhaus AG . Since then, drinks have been bottled in Einbeck .

The company filed for bankruptcy on November 16, 2012 and was taken over by the Einbecker brewery in January 2013. The Peiner Brauhaus last produced 70,000  hectoliters annually with 34 employees.

The newly founded BrauManufaktur Härke started operations in February 2013. 16 of the former 34 employees were taken over.
