The RSD17 project , also known as the Euro-Cruiser , describes a type of coaster built in Russia .

history

The ship type was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau in Odessa .

The ships were from 2005 to 2007 on the shipyard Krasnoye Sormovo in Nizhny Novgorod for the Turkish built shipping company Palmali Shipping.

description

The ships are from a Wärtsilä - diesel engine (type: 6R32LN) with 2,450  kW power driven, of a variable pitch propeller acts. The ships reach a speed of 11.5  knots . They are equipped with a bow thruster with an output of 300 kW.

A shaft generator with 500 kW output, two diesel generators with 292 kW each and an emergency generator with 160 kW output are available for power generation. The shaft generator can also be used as an emergency drive if the main engine fails.

The ships have three box-shaped holds : hold 1 is 27.9 m long, holds 2 and 3 are each 28.6 m long. The rooms are each 12.7 m wide and 8.87 m high. The volume of the cargo holds amounts to a total of 9,370 m³. The tank top can be loaded with 10 t / m². The holds are closed with five pontoon hatch covers each , which can be moved with the help of a hatch wagon.

The dimensions of the ships allow the passage of the Volga-Don Canal . For the passage of the canal the draft is limited to 3.6 m. The load capacity is then around 3,530 t.

The ships can load 234  TEU . 174 TEU can be found in the holds and 60 TEU on deck.

The deckhouse is located in the stern area of the ships. The masts of the ships can be folded down to pass under bridges . There is a free-fall lifeboat behind the deckhouse . The ships are driven by a crew of twelve . There is space for a total of 14 people on board. The ships can stay at sea for around 20 days.

The hull of the ships is reinforced with ice (Russian ice class "Ice2")
