The province of Rodríguez de Mendoza is one of the seven provinces of the Amazonas region in northern Peru . The province has an area of 2359 km². In the 2017 census, the population was 29,998. 10 years earlier this was 26,389. The provincial administration is in Mendoza .
Geographical location
The province of Rodríguez de Mendoza is crossed by the eastern mountain ranges of the Peruvian Central Cordillera in a north-south direction. The area is drained by the Río Huayabamba and Río Mayo south to the Río Huallaga .
The province of Rodríguez de Mendoza borders in the north, east and south on the region of San Martín and in the west on the province of Chachapoyas .
