The province of Bagua is one of the seven provinces that make up the Amazon region in northern Peru . The population in the 2017 census was 74,100. In 1993 it was 69,482, in 2007 it was 71,757.
Location and limitation
The province of Bagua borders in the northwest with Ecuador , in the east with the province Condorcanqui , in the south with the province Utcubamba and in the west with the region Cajamarca (provinces Jaén and San Ignacio ).
Administrative division
Bagua Province is divided into six districts. The Bagua district is the seat of the provincial administration.

Bagua owns one of the most important national borders of Peru, which in the last ten years caused a sensation worldwide during wars against Ecuador.
Capital
The capital of the province is Bagua , which is located at the southern end of the province, on the right bank of the Utcubamba River .
