The blue bald head ( Psilocybe cyanescens ), also called blue-green speckled or blue-colored bald head , is a type of mushroom from the family of the Trümmling relatives . Because of the sticky surface of the hat, trivial names with the designation glue head are also used . The mushroom, which is rare in Germany, grows in ruderal locations , is blue on pressure points and contains hallucinogenic ingredients.
features
The blue end bald head is relatively robust, in hat and stem articulated fruiting body with a central stationary shaft. The hat is 1–7 cm wide and is initially conical, later flat and wavy. Its surface is brown, buffy-colored and slightly sticky when it is wet; when dry, it is pale white or yellowish to ocher brown. The lamellae have a cinnamon, chestnut or gray-brown, sometimes almost umbra-brown color with a paler edge, they are bulged. The 5–8 cm long and 2–5 mm thick stalk is relatively stiff and whitish, with age it can turn blue from the base. The velum is reticulated, thin and whitish. The fruit body smells dull and potato-like or of flour. With age, the fungus turns blue-green at pressure points.
ecology
The blue bald head colonizes rotting wood and plant remains as a saprobiont , it occurs on ruderal locations, on light forest paths and in parks, its occurrence is unsteady.
distribution
The bald bald head is found in North America, North Africa and Europe. In Europe, finds from Sardinia, Serbia, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Germany have been reported. The species is rare in Germany.
meaning
The blue bald head has a psychedelic effect due to its psilocybin and psilocin content and is therefore out of the question as an edible mushroom. Because of these ingredients, the possession and trade of mushrooms of this type is prohibited according to the Narcotics Act in Germany and most other European countries.
