Punta Agradable ( Spanish in Chile Punta Chaura ) is a headland at the Graham Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located at the northern end of the Barison Peninsula between the Beascochea and Leroux Bay . It protrudes into the Grandidier Canal .
Argentine scientists named it after the corvette Agradable , which belonged to the squadron of the Argentine Admiral Guillermo Brown (1777-1857). Chilean scientists, however, named it after Pedro Chaura, a crew member of the Yelcho in the rescue of the endurance expedition (1914-1917) of the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton who were stranded on Elephant Island in 1916 .
