In the film, the extremist James Wright tried (played by EG Marshall ), at a party meeting of Democrats in San Diego , a poisonous gas - attempt to commit. He is on the heels of the FBI - Agent Steven Graves ( Ben Gazzara ), who tries to prevent the action. A game of cat and mouse develops, not least due to the assassin's outstanding intelligence.
