The source area of ​​the Gieseler nature reserve lies in the area of ​​the town of Erwitte in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area extends northeast of the core town of Erwitte and northwest of the Erwitter district of Eikeloh . It is the headwaters of the Gieseler , a left tributary of the Lippe . The B 1 runs not far to the south and the L 536 state road to the east .
