The Völlinghauser Bach - Sonnenbornbach nature reserve is located in the area of the municipality of Anröchte and the city of Erwitte in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area extends east and south of Völlinghausen , a district of Erwitte, along the Völlinghauser Bach . The A 44 cuts through the area. The B 55 runs east, the state road L 856 north and the L 748 west.

For Anröchte and Erwitte, a 23.02 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve under the code number SO-049 since 1997 .
