quer (subtitle: Through the week with Christoph Süß ) is a weekly magazine that has been shown on BR TV on Thursdays at 8:15 p.m. since 1998 and is moderated by cabaret artist Christoph Süß . It replaced the youth program Live from the slaughterhouse .

concept

quer reports in his articles (spoken mostly by Peter Weiß ) on topics from politics, zeitgeist, society, scene and culture. The program is characterized by cabaret interludes by the presenter as well as their glosses and reports, for example by the external reporter Dominik von Glass, who travels in Bavarian cities and questions passers-by on current topics. In the program, the contributions are often loosened up with satirical elements, so the Bavarian state government , the CSU , but also the Bavarian SPD and Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen are the target of mocking allusions. The moderator repeatedly slips into multiple roles, disguises himself accordingly and leads discussions with himself. Within the editorial team, this is referred to as a cross-racket . Technically, this is made possible by a virtual studio.

Prime Minister parody

A mimed, satirical dialogue with the respective Bavarian Minister-President , which the moderator faces at the end of each program, forms a permanent part of the program. The former Prime Minister Horst Seehofer was - like Edmund Stoiber before - portrayed by Wolfgang Krebs , whereby "Seehofer's" head was always outside the upper edge of the picture, in an ironic exaggeration of its stately height. The conversation scenario with Seehofer was supplemented with talking dolls by Ilse Aigner and Markus Söder . The current Prime Minister Markus Söder was portrayed during his first cabinet by the hand puppet now sitting on a Greek column. Since the state elections in 2018 , Wolfgang Krebs has parodied Söder and Hubert Aiwanger , who sit opposite the standing moderator at two desks placed apart. Every year on New Year's Eve, a short quer-Schau at the turn of the year with Christoph Süß and the “Prime Minister” is broadcast.
