Rémi Santiago (born December 10, 1980 in Chambéry ) is a former French ski jumper .

Career

Santiago, who competes for the St. Gervais Mt. Blanc club, jumped for the first time on January 30, 1999 in the Ski Jumping World Cup . Together with Nicolas Dessum , Jérôme Gay and Lucas Chevalier-Girod he came in 10th place in the team competition.

On January 12, 2002, Rémi Santiago was able to win World Cup points for the first time with 29th place in Willingen . The 29th place and the associated World Cup points were the best result in the World Cup for Santiago. He could not jump into the points again in the following four years of his ski jumping career.

At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , he was 31st on the large hill and tenth in team competition with Emmanuel Chedal , Nicolas Dessum and Florentin Durand . At the ski flying world championship in Harrachov in 2002 , he managed a surprising 17th place. From July 2002 he was a permanent member of the French team in the Continental Cup . He was rarely nominated for a World Cup show jumping. However, he was always eliminated in the first round and ended up in the back places. After no further successes could be achieved for Santiago in the Continental Cup either, he ended his active jumping career after jumping in the Summer Grand Prix on his home hill in Courchevel on August 14, 2006.
