Career

Durand made his international debut in the 1998/99 season in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . In his first season he reached a total of seven Continental Cups and thus ranked 127th overall. Also in the following season 1999/2000 he reached this rank in the overall ranking. On August 15, 2000 he made his debut in the Ski Jumping Grand Prix as part of the French team at the team competition in Hinterzarten . As 13th the team could only reach the last place.

The 2000/01 season was his most successful season. He achieved a total of 163 points and thus rank 56 in the overall ranking. In the following season 2001/02 he could not build on this success and only reached rank 237 in the overall standings. Despite this failure, he was part of the team in the Ski Jumping World Cup for the first time on January 12, 2002 . In Willingen he did not reach the second round in the individual and reached 45th place. With the team he finished sixth in the team competition.

At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , he started in the individual from the large hill, but clearly missed the qualification. In the team competition he finished tenth together with Emmanuel Chedal , Nicolas Dessum and Rémi Santiago . In February 2003, after an unsuccessful year in the Continental Cup, he started again in the World Cup in Willingen. He missed the World Cup points in the second competition by just one place. At the beginning of the 2003/04 World Cup season , Durand started again in Kuusamo and Trondheim , but was again unable to place in the points with places 66 and 40. He then moved back to the Continental Cup.

He ended his career with two Continental Cup starts in July 2004 in Oberstdorf , where he clearly missed a success without any points.
