The Río Tastavins ( Catalan : Riu de Tastavins ) is a left-hand tributary of the Río Matarraña in northeastern Spain . It forms part of the Ebro electricity system .
geography
The Tastavins rises with several source streams ( Barranco de la Escresola and Barranco de Escalona ) in the mountains of the Ports de Tortosa-Beseit on the border of the provinces of Teruel and Castellón , flows through the towns of Peñarroya de Tastavins and the somewhat remote communities of Ráfales and La Portellada and flows into the Matarraña around four kilometers west of Valderrobres .
The catchment area of the river includes the southwest of the Comarca Matarraña and the municipality of Herbés in the province of Castellón.
In the municipality of La Portellada, the river falls over the approximately 20 meter high Es Salt waterfall .
