Rômulo dos Santos de Souza , called Rômulo (born April 28, 1995 in Rio de Janeiro ), is a Brazilian football player . The right foot is used as a striker or in attacking midfield.

Career

Rômulo received his football training with Avaí FC . Here the player made it into the professional squad in 2014. As early as 2015, he played 41 games in various competitions and scored three goals. He scored all goals in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A 2015 . Rômulo played his first game in Series A on May 30, 2015 against Coritiba FC . In the away game he came on in the 68th minute for Anderson Lopes . He scored his first goal in the top Brazilian league on June 7, 2015. He came on for Eduardo against the Goiás EC in the 61st minute and scored 1-0 in the final minute. Even after relegation to Série B after the end of the season , he came to regular assignments there in 2016 . He made 28 of 38 possible appearances and scored 12 goals. His club was able to take second place at the end of the championship and thus achieved direct promotion. At the end of the 2017 season , his club had to relegate in 18th place.

After his contract was extended to the end of 2020 in September 2018, Rômulo was loaned to al-Dhafra in the UAE for one year in the middle of the month . Rômulu played his first game in the UAE Arabian Gulf League on matchday three of the 2018/19 season . On September 21, 2018 in the home game against Al-Ittihad Kalba SC , he was in the starting line-up. On December 4, 2018, the twelfth matchday of the season, Rômulo scored his first goals in the league. In the home game against the al-Jazira Club he scored all goals for his club in a 3-2 win (28th, 78th and 90th minutes).
