The Rödliner See in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is located south of Neubrandenburg and east of Neustrelitz in the Mecklenburg Lake District . It is located in the Feldberger Seenlandschaft nature park , but not in the municipality of the same name , in the area of the municipality of Blankensee . In the south the lake borders on the municipality of Carpin .
Geographical shape
The Rödliner See is in the Rinnensee created by the last Ice Age in the shape of an elongated hook with several bulges. Its north-south extension is 3.29 km, its east-west 2.246 km. It has four islands of quite different sizes. The northernmost island is located in the north-western arm of the lake and is connected by a dam to the north bank and to a peninsula protruding far into the lake from the south. As a result, the lake is cut into two very unequal parts. The large, eastern part of the lake measures 1.954 km², the small, northwestern part 0.337 km², both together about 2.29 km². The water level is 62.9 to 63 above sea level. NHN .
Surroundings
The water area of the lake and about two thirds of its shore belong to the municipality of Blankensee , about a third of the shore in the south and southwest to the municipality of Carpin . At the northern tip of the lake is the village of Rödlin with the island dam, and Groß Schönfeld on the east bank . The village of Carpin is grouped around the southern end in continuation of the lake and the Carpiner district of Georgenhof on the west bank. The lake is almost completely surrounded by a belt of reeds. The bank is not forested. The heights around the lake reach over 100 m above sea level. NN.
Location in the water network
The lake belongs to the catchment area of the Tollense and thus the Peene , which flows into the Baltic Sea . Its own catchment area is limited to the south and west by the watershed to the Havel and thus to the Elbe .
The outflow of the Rödliner See (GKZ = 966426) is 1.38 km long, 200 m of which is underground, and flows into the Wanzkaer See of the Nonnenbach , directly in front of its narrow point at the village of Wanzka .
The catchment area of the Rödliner See is 37.55 km² and includes numerous lakes and nameless streams:
