history

In contrast to the neighboring Gospersgrün, the Römersgrün and Raumfeld settlements are significantly younger. While Gospersgrün already in the 11th / 12th In the 19th century when Waldhufendorf was mentioned, Römersgrün and Raumfeld only emerged towards the end of the 18th century. The name Römersgrün was mentioned for the first time in 1780. It is derived from the Römer family , who ruled the two settlements of Römersgrün and Raumfeld from the Neumark manor into the 19th century .

Until 1856, Römersgrün belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Zwickau in the Erzgebirge district . In 1856, due to its previous affiliation with the Neumark manor, in contrast to the neighboring towns of Gospersgrün and Beiersdorf, Römersgrün was not affiliated with the Werdau court office , but with the Reichenbach court office and thus with the Plauen administration in 1875 . In 1920, Römersgrün was assigned to the Werdau administration . Due to the dissolution of the administrative district in 1933, the place came to the Zwickau district administration , which from 1939 was called the Zwickau district.

Römersgrün was incorporated into Gospersgrün on October 1, 1937. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Römersgrün became part of the municipality of Gospersgrün in 1952 and became part of the Werdau district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Werdau from 1990 and in 1994 in the Zwickauer Land district rose. Through incorporations, Römersgrün came as part of Gospersgrün on January 1, 1994 to Ruppertsgrün , which in turn came to Fraureuth on January 1, 1998. Since the district reform in the Free State of Saxony in 2008, Römersgrün has been part of the Fraureuth municipality in the Zwickau district.
