history

Untereumark was mentioned in 1423 as "Niderneuenmarkt". From the 16th century, the manorial rule over the place was partly held by the manors Neuschönfels (majority) and Ruppertsgrün (small share). Erlmühle, located in the north-eastern corridor, was mentioned as a manor in 1696, which existed as such in the 18th century. The manor house was completed in 1789. In 1875 it was mentioned as a chancellery estate .

Untereumark belonged like the other present-day districts of Neumark until 1856 to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Zwickau in the Erzgebirge district . In 1856, Unterneumark, like the places around Neumark in the former Zwickau office, was affiliated to the Reichenbach court office and in 1875 to the Plauen administration . In 1920 Untersteumark was assigned to the Werdau administration . Due to the dissolution of the administrative district in 1933, the place came to the Zwickau district administration , which from 1939 was called the Zwickau district.

On October 1, 1937, Untersteumark was incorporated into Neumark. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Untereumark became part of the municipality of Neumark in 1952 and became part of the Reichenbach district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Reichenbach from 1990 and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996.
