history

Altrottmannsdorf was first mentioned in 1441 as "Roczmanstorff". Wendischrottmannsdorf, a few kilometers to the east, called Rottmannsdorf since 1937 , was mentioned at that time as "Ruczmerstorf". From the 16th century onwards, the manorial power over Altrottmannsdorf was partly held by the manors Neu-Schönfels , Reuth and Ruppertsgrün . Altrottmannsdorf was originally parish church to Neumark, since 1555 the village has belonged to Schönfels church.

Altrottmannsdorf belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Zwickau in the Erzgebirge district until 1856 . In 1856, in contrast to the neighboring town of Schönfels, Altrottmannsdorf was not affiliated with the Zwickau court office , but with the Reichenbach court office and thus in 1875 with the Plauen administration . In 1920 Altrottmannsdorf was assigned to the Werdau administration . Due to the dissolution of the administrative district in 1933, the place came to the Zwickau district administration , which from 1939 was called the Zwickau district.

On January 1, 1949, Altrottmannsdorf was incorporated into Schönfels . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Altrottmannsdorf became part of the community of Schönfels in 1952 and became part of the Zwickau-Land district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Zwickau from 1990 onwards and in 1994 District Zwickauer Land rose. With the amalgamation of the communities Lichtentanne, Schönfels and Stenn , Altrottmannsdorf became a district of the community Lichtentanne on January 1, 1996. On April 1, 2008 the place was deleted as part of the municipality of Lichtentanne. Shortly thereafter, Altrottmannsdorf came to the district of Zwickau with the municipality of Lichtentanne on August 1, 2008 as part of the Saxon district reform.
