The village of Rückersdorf (Slov. Rikarja vas) is located in the south of Carinthia . Today with its 166 inhabitants it is the fifth largest town in the municipality of Sittersdorf .
history
On March 29, 1876 the community of Rückersdorf with the places Rückersdorf, Lauchenholz , Möchling , Mökriach , Stein i. Jauntal , St. Veit i. Jauntal and Vellach founded. During the Second World War , the rather poor community was merged with the community of Sittersdorf. An exact date of the dissolution has not yet been found. church
The branch church Capella sancti Andreae was mentioned for the first time in 1154. Only the presbytery remains from this period . The main altar, on which the statutes of St. Andrew and Ulrich are written, dates from 1759. Until 1640 the church was consecrated to St. Andrew. From 1643 St. Ulrich is also mentioned as the patron of the church.
legend
Since the church is consecrated to St. Ulrich, among other things, it is assumed that the spring on the south-east side of the church had healing powers, especially against febrile diseases.
