Rückershausen is a church village in the Rheingau-Taunus district in southern Hesse . It originated on the eastern bank of the Aar, which flows through the Taunus in a valley . The formerly politically independent municipality has belonged to the newly formed municipality of Aarbergen since 1971 and has been its northernmost district ever since.

history

The first documentary evidence of the place can be found in a deed of ownership of the St. Severus Monastery in Gemünden in the Westerwald from the year 879. Until the beginning of the 16th century, it belonged to the Hubengericht in neighboring Kettenbach . 1532 Rückershausen was built by Emperor Charles V , the market rights granted. A fire destroyed large parts of the village on August 24, 1857. More than 50 families were left homeless. In the following years the village was rebuilt as planned. With the connection to the Aartalbahn in 1894, Rückershausen experienced a significant increase in population, and the settlement area expanded to the western bank of the Aar.

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the previously independent communities of Daisbach, Hausen via Aar, Kettenbach, Michelbach, Panrod and Rückershausen voluntarily merged on December 31, 1970 to form the new community of Aarbergen. For each district, the main statute established a local district with a local advisory board and local councilor in accordance with the Hessian municipal code.
