Rütschdorf is a district of Hardheim in the Neckar-Odenwald district .

Geographical location

Rütschdorf is located on the northeastern edge of the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg . The northwestern local border forms to Guggenberg , a district of the municipality Eichenbühl , district Miltenberg , with the state border between Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria .

Origin of the place name

In 1365 the place is referred to as Ruczeldorf, village of Ruzilo ( Rudolf ), further as Ruocessdorffe (1395) or Ruocelsdorf (1415). Rütschdorf has the same origin of the name as Rüsselsheim am Main .

history

Rütschdorf emerged as a high medieval clearing hamlet and was originally owned by the Amorbach monastery . The rulership rights went in rapidly changing succession to the lords of Ehrenberg, von Helmstatt and Zobel von Giebelstadt, among others. In 1632, when the von Rosenberg family died out, Rütschdorf fell back to the Würzburg monastery as their fief . Landlords then became the lords of Hatzfeld . When this family died out, the place came into the possession of the Bronnbach Monastery in 1794 , in the course of secularization in 1803 to the princes of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg and thus in 1806 to the Grand Duchy of Baden .

The Breitenauer Hof, located in a north-easterly direction about two kilometers (as the crow flies) on the Erf , which had belonged to Rütschdorf at least since 1820, was separated on April 1, 1924 and incorporated into Hardheim.

From 1935 to 1945 Rütschdorf (together with Dornberg and Vollmersdorf ) was incorporated into Wettersdorf . In 1975 it was incorporated into Hardheim.

coat of arms

The former coat of arms of Rütschdorf shows a golden ploughshare on a blue background. It can already be found in the court seal in the late 18th and 19th centuries. The colors of the local coat of arms were determined in 1908 by the General State Archives.
