Erfeld is a district of Hardheim in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg .
geography
Erfeld is located in the building land at about 300 m above sea level. NHN in the not yet very deeply cut upper valley of the Erfa . State road 514 leads through the village from Richtstetten to Bretzingen . To the east of the district of Erfeld the border runs Main-Tauber-Kreis .
history
Erfeld was first mentioned in a document in 1244. While the former suburb of Obererfeld has developed into today's village, the abandoned Niedererfeld was in the area of today's Erfeld mill on the northern boundary of the district. Erfeld once belonged to the manor of the Amorbach monastery and since the late 13th century to Kurmainz . In 1803 Erfeld was briefly transferred to the Principality of Leiningen and in 1806 to the Grand Duchy of Baden .
On December 1, 1971, Erfeld was incorporated into the Hardheim community.

Blazon : In silver on a green ground, Erfeld's coat of arms shows St. Wendelin in a blue robe and black boots with a black bag on a silver ribbon, holding a black shepherd's staff in his right hand. In front of him is a black dog with a red tongue.
History of the coat of arms: Saint Wendelin is the church patron of Erfeld . During the time of the Principality of Leiningen, the community seal of Erfeld featured the Liningian coat of arms with the church patron as a shield holder. In 1908/09 the current coat of arms in a different color was proposed by the General State Archives. In 1958/59 it was changed to the current color.

There is a connection to the federal highway 81 in the direction of Würzburg or Heilbronn via state roads at the Ahorn junction (No. 4) about 9 km away or the Boxberg junction (No. 5) about 12 km away .
