The ДТ1 (DT1) is a two-power multiple unit built by the Torchok wagon factory for the Russian railway company RŽD , which is used specifically in suburban traffic on networks with 3 kV direct current and non-electrified railway lines. It can be described as the first multiple unit of its type, the RŽD. The first unit of the vehicle was delivered by the Tver wagon factory in 2005. In 2009 the series was delivered with 13 vehicles so far.

history

The ДТ1 was developed by the company ЦНИИ ТрансЭлектроПрибор ( ZNII Transelektroapparate ) from Saint Petersburg . The diesel electric train consists of three to four cars: two control cars in which the diesel generator units are housed, a motor car with pantograph , electrical equipment and electric traction motors and possibly a sidecar. The four-part train unit has 368 seats.

The diesel-electric train is intended for suburban traffic on railway lines with a gauge of 1520 mm and low and high platforms . In January 2009, after testing, the first prototype vehicle was stationed at the Saint Petersburg Baltic Railway Station depot . There he was nicknamed Плесков ( Pleskow ), the operation with him began on May 31, 2009. As planned, three units were delivered with him, all vehicles made it to the October Railway . The total value of the four vehicles delivered in 2009 was 74 million rubles . In April 2010, six units in the series had already been put into operation. The first three diesel-electric trains were operated on the routes Saint Petersburg– Pskov (discontinued in connection with the establishment of a fast day train to Pskov from the Wizebsky station in Saint Petersburg), Saint Petersburg– Kingissepp (later extended to Ivangorod ) and Saint Petersburg– Gdow ( later shortened to Slanzy station ).

In the first years of construction there were many irregularities in the vehicles, and a particularly large number of malfunctions occurred in the winter of 2009/2010. Repeatedly, units were towed by diesel locomotives or entire units were replaced by trains hauled by locomotives. From January 17, 2014, the DT1s were neglected in operation on the railways around Yekaterinburg . Trains of other types ran on the routes Ekaterinburg - Artjomovsky - Alapayevsk - Nizhny Tagil .
