Radij Faritowitsch Chabirow ( Bashkir : Радий Фəрит улы Хəбиров, Russian : Радий Фаритович Хабиров, * 20th March 1964 in the village Sajranovo , rayon Ishimbay , Bashkir ASSR , RSFSR , USSR ) is a Russian politician and since 19 September 2019 Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan .

biography

Khabirov was born into a family of educators . He is the youngest of three sons.

Chabirow was a milling apprentice from 1981 to 1982 in the Ischimbai vehicle manufacturing plant . He then did his basic military service in the Soviet Army from 1982 to 1984. From 1984 to 1989 he studied at the Law Faculty of the Bashkir State University. He then worked as an assistant at the Chair of Constitutional Law and Soviet Development at the Law Faculty of the Bashkir State University (BSU) from 1989 to 1992. At the same time he was chairman of the BSU student union committee. From 1992 to he studied at the Bilkent University in Ankara ( Turkey ). After graduating there, he was awarded the degree of Magister . He then worked again at the BSU from 1994 to 2003, as senior lecturer until 1998, as vice dean and university lecturer until 2002 and as acting director, director of the University of Law until 2003. He then switched to politics.

Khabirov has two daughters from his first marriage to Larisa Lukyanova, with whom he was married from 1987 to 2013. His second wife is Karine Chabirowa, née Avetisjan. He has had a son with her since 2017.

Political career

From September 2003 to July 2008 he was the head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Bashkortostan and from August 27, 2008 to December 2008 he was the head of the Department for Cooperation with the Federation Assembly of Russia and the political parties of the Office of the Russian Presidential Administration for Domestic Policy. In 2009 he assumed the post of Deputy Head of the Office of the Russian Presidential Administration for Domestic Affairs until September 19, 2016. On January 25, 2017, he became the acting mayor of the Krasnogorsk district in Moscow Oblast and from March 28, 2017, the mayor of the district .

Since October 11, 2018, he has been acting head of the Republic of Bashkortostan .

On the unified day of voting , September 8, 2019, with a result of 82.02% in the first round of elections for head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov won. His term of office ends in 2024.

The inauguration took place on September 19 in the house of the State Assembly - Kurultaj of the Republic of Bashkortostan. He officially assumed the office of head of the republic.

criticism

In the run-up to the 2003 presidential elections in the Republic of Bashkortostan, the opposition candidates accused Khabirov of running a secret print shop that printed forged ballot papers. A local prosecutor who made the case public was dismissed shortly afterwards and the investigation closed.
