history

Today's Radio Seefunk was founded in 1987 as seefunk radio bodensee . It started broadcasting on September 1, 1987 on the 101.8 MHz frequency with an output of 100 watts at that time in Constance. The station was purely a city station for the university town of Konstanz. Over time, additional frequencies were added in the south of Baden-Württemberg. The target group of the founding program was “everyone from 8 to 88”. It was later discovered - not only in Konstanz - that you need a clear definition of target groups and, consequently, addressing them in order to be successful. The target group of over 30s was chosen for various market-relevant reasons. This target group was then offered a so-called oldie format. This went hand in hand with a change of the program name to seefunk radio - the oldiesender . Finally, the name of the program was renamed Radio Seefunk and the music format was modified again, with the result that the target group's audience has increased significantly. The media analysis 2017 Radio II showed an audience rate of around 147,000 listeners per day in Germany and 34,300 in Switzerland for the then Radio Seefunk RSF. This makes Radio Seefunk one of the most successful private local broadcasters in southern Germany. At the beginning of September 2018, the station changed its name to Das Neue Radio Seefunk . According to ma 2019 Audio I, published on March 27, 2019, Das neue Radio Seefunk now reaches 168,000 listeners a day. With an increase in the hourly net coverage of two thirds (from 21,000 to 35,000 listeners on average (Mon-Fri)), Das neue Radio Seefunk was the station with the greatest increase in listeners in ma 2019 Audio I in Germany.
