Rafael Ferreira Donato (born March 17, 1989 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian soccer player .
Career
At the beginning of his career, Rafael worked through various junior teams from professional clubs. He received his first assignment as a professional player at the fourth division Audax from Rio de Janeiro .
2012 moved to the first division club EC Bahia in Salvador da Bahia and in the same year still further to Cruzeiro in Belo Horizonte . Here he could not prevail against the other team members, so that he was loaned back to Bahia at the start of the Brazilian championship in 2013. Also for the high ambitions of the club in 2014 (defending the title in the championship and winning the Copa Libertadores ), the player played no role in the plans of coach Marcelo Oliveira . That is why Rafael was loaned to Criciúma. He also played no role at Cruzeiro in the following years. At the end of 2017, his permanent move to União Madeira was announced. He was suspended indefinitely at the club on February 24, 2018. According to the club's justification, Donato repeatedly failed to attend training and refused to play a game. In July 2018, Donato was handed over to Al-Kawkab FC in Saudi Arabia .
In December 2019, Rafael moved back to Brazil, where he received a contract with Brasiliense FC for the 2020 season .
