Rafael Romero Marchent Hernández (born May 3, 1926 in Madrid ; † February 13, 2020 there ) was a Spanish actor , film director and screenwriter .

Life

Romero Marchent, son of the filmmaker Joaquín Romero Marchent Gómez de Avellaneda and member of a film family, appeared as an actor during his school days and began as a professional actor with small film roles in the mid-1940s. At the same time he took courses in dance and drama; In 1947 he played for the first time in El traje de luces by Edgar Neville .

At the beginning of the 1960s he switched to behind the camera; he wrote scripts and assisted various directors; He began directing films in the middle of the decade. He should bring it to over 30 titles, including 19 Spaghettiwestern . Often in collaboration with his brother Joaquín Luis Romero Marchent , he was mostly his own producer of his films, including comedies, thrillers and musicals.

With the end of the 1970s Romero Marchent turned more and more to television; so he shot the Spanish television series Curro Jiménez . He was also active as a dubbing and theater director and as a poet. One of his pseudonyms was Ralph March .
