One shot too many (original title: Dos hombres van a morir ) is a spaghetti western from 1968, the heyday of the genre. Rafael Romero Marchent directed Peter Martell in the leading role of the film, which was shown for the first time in German-speaking countries on December 20, 2005 on private television.

To put an end to the ongoing harassment from the bandits led by Bill Anderson, the residents of Springfield, Missouri, hire Pinkerton agent Daniel, who is somewhat mysteriously related to a former Northern states officer and resident of the town, Allan. After the two killed the man behind the gang, Corbett, they set out on the trail of Anderson, who fled to Oregon with his men. A group of Mormons Anderson encounters en route are killed; assumed the identity of the people. The bandits take possession of a farm under this mask and carry out their crimes from there; But Allan and Daniel find out about them and discover their true identity. Kid, Allan's little brother and member of the Anderson gang, is killed by a misunderstanding from Daniel's hand. This act ended the friendship between the two men. The film mixes well-known motifs anew, according to the lexicon of international films . The film exudes little Italian flair, but offers entertainment despite some weaknesses, with actor Piero Lulli shining, writes Oliver Bitzer.

The Italian title is Ringo il cavaliere solitario , the international Ringo - the Lone Rider . The interior shots were shot in the Elios studios in Rome, the exterior shots in Spain.
