Peter Martell

Peter Martell (born September 30, 1938 in Bozen ; † February 1, 2010 in Bozen; also: Pietro Martellanza, Pietro Martellanz and Peter Martellanz ) was an Italian film actor from South Tyrol .

Life

Martell grew up in Bolzano, left the city at the age of 17, but kept returning to his homeland. After a few years as a seaman, Martell came to Italy in the early 1960s, where he initially worked as an entertainer in discos and won a beauty contest.

Martell began his work in film as a stuntman . In the 1960s and 1970s he played many roles in international film productions, especially in spaghetti westerns . He was u. a. even for starring in God forgives ... Django never! , at the side of Bud Spencer , but broke his ankle during an argument with his girlfriend before shooting began, whereupon he was replaced by Terence Hill , for whom a decades-long successful collaboration with Bud Spencer developed from this film.

After Martell was quiet in the 1990s, he was back in front of the camera regularly from 2001 onwards.
