The law of the merciless (original title: Il lungo giorno del massacro ) is a 1968 spaghetti western that Alberto Cardone directed, wrote, produced and edited. The German-language premiere was on video.

Joe Williams was the sheriff of Kansas City and was dismissed by the judge for his uncompromising methods. He is charged with the murder of some farmers; In fact, the crimes go to the account of the Mexican gangster La Muerte, who has a lot on the kerbholz with his girlfriend Paquita. Joe takes care of his own relief with his deputy Evans and sets himself on the trail of La Muertes, where they get caught in a bank robbery organized by his gang and Joe falls into La Muerte's hands. The arrival of the current sheriff and his men saves him. When he is later able to save the sheriff's life in a violent shooting, the two join forces and can eliminate La Muerte and his gang.
