Lead Court (original title: ! Dio li crea ... io li ammazzo ) is the title of a spaghetti western , the Paolo Bianchini in 1968 staged. On June 5, 1970 it was launched in a considerably shortened version in German-speaking countries.

action

With Wells City Bank a popular raid target, city elders decide to take action. At the suggestion of Judge Kincaid, they hire the gunslinger Slim Corbett for a generous salary. The poor Mexican job helps him with his investigation, which apart from the judge no one endorses.

When a stagecoach with gold is ambushed by a group of bandits, Slim discovers after the attack that one of the leaders is the sheriff who is also hoarding the stolen goods. The man behind it all, the wealthy landowner Douglas, kills the sheriff and puts the blame on Corbett. In the meantime, Job has discovered the gold and is able to convince the court of Slim's innocence, but is then tortured by Douglas' men. Corbett arrives to his rescue, which kills all bandits in bloody shootings.

criticism

The critics were harshly judged with the film: “Brutal and cynical spaghetti westerns” was the conclusion of the lexicon of international film . Christian Keßler thinks it is “not really important”. According to Film Mese , the biggest shortcoming of the film is the script, which cannot quite articulate its story, but praised it: “The few outdoor shots are replaced by grandiose studio scenes.” “A western that is obvious from the start that only the most tired clichés are raised in action, dialogue and violence. ”, says Segnalazine Cinematografiche

Remarks

Interior shots were taken in the Cosmopolitan Film studios in Tirrenia .

The frequently cited performance title in the GDR, lead face , could not be proven. It is said to have been a misprint in the television newspaper "FF Do".

The theme song "God creates them, I kill them" comes from main actor Dean Reed, who also interprets it.

The video version of Arcade was indexed from June 28, 1986 to May 31, 2011.
