José Jaspe

José Jaspe Rivas (born August 10, 1906 in A Coruña , † June 5, 1974 in Becerril de Campos ) was a Spanish actor .

Life

Jaspe already acted on the theater stage as a child and went to film after the Spanish Civil War in 1942. In doing so, he became a sought-after and popular character actor , especially in genre films , including many spaghetti westerns - from 1953 to 1963 he worked almost exclusively in Italy - in which he interpreted comic as well as serious, evil characters who supported the hero. Some television appearances can also be found in his filmography, which comprises almost 120 roles.

Jaspe was married to the actress Mercedes Vecino . In Becerril there is a place named after the actor.
