Raimondo Vianello

Raimondo Vianello (born May 7, 1922 in Rome , † April 15, 2010 in Milan ) was an Italian actor and television presenter , who became known as a comedian and with his wife Sandra Mondaini .

Life

Vianello grew up mostly in Pula , where his father headed a nautical academy as admiral of the Regia Marina and spent the Second World War in Dalmatia, where his father was transferred. After briefly studying law, he was a member of the Italian Social Republic in 1945 , which is why he became an Allied prisoner of war and was imprisoned in Campo di Coltano .

After his release he ran the Centro Nazionale Sportivo Fiamma together with his brother Roberto , for which he was also active and played soccer for US Palermo in Serie B in 1946 and in the Terza Categoria for SaMo. In addition, he took his first steps as an actor and appeared in Oreste Biancoli's Cantachiaro No. 2 first appeared in the film. In the 1950s he was seen on stage in musical revues and comedies; In addition, he intensified his film appearances as a character actor, often alongside Totò , and found great success on television, for which he and Ugo Tognazzi from 1954 presented the satirical program Un due tre . In 1958 he met Sandra Mondaini , whom he married four years later; The couple played many television programs, first on RAI and later on Canale 5 , especially from the beginning of the 1970s and until their last show Croceria Vianello in 2008 such as Attentati a noi due , Sandra e Raimondo Show and the Sitcom Casa Vianello , which aired from 1988 to 2007. Vianello also moderated quiz programs such as Zig zag , Il gioco dei 9 and Pressing . He was also in demand as a football expert. In 1998 he presented the Sanremo Festival .

On June 26, 1996, Vianello was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic as a Grand Officer .
