Rainer A. Krewerth

Rainer Alexander Krewerth (born September 12, 1943 in Warendorf ; † March 30, 2003 in Sweden ) was a German journalist and writer who also published under the pseudonyms Promenadus and Kornelius Koeffner .

Life

Rainer A. Krewerth grew up as the son of a civil servant in Oelde and attended the Benedictine boarding school in Meschede from 1958 to 1960 , then the Laurentianum grammar school in Warendorf. As early as the early 1960s, he published reports, comments on local politics and travel reports in regional daily newspapers. After graduating from high school, he studied German , journalism , art history and Swedish in Münster and Munich until 1968 . At times he financed his studies with part-time jobs as a student trainee, vacation replacement for daily newspapers and as a chauffeur. From 1971 he worked as a reporter, from 1976 as deputy editor-in-chief of the Christian magazine Weltbild in Augsburg . From 1978 to 1982 he worked as a freelance writer and journalist for newspapers such as Merian , Welt am Sonntag , PM , Bunte , Hörzu and Handelsblatt . After returning to Warendorf in 1982, he worked as an editor-in-chief at a daily newspaper before finally giving up his daily newspaper work in 1984. Since 1982 he has acted as editor of the "Yearbook Westphalia". He got involved in the Heimatverein Warendorf (1983 to 1995 chairman), worked on monument protection programs and was a "knowledgeable citizen" in the culture committee of the council of the city of Warendorf. From 1985 he made feuilletons, city and landscape portraits as well as biographical sketches for the WDR radio. He died on March 30, 2003 while on a trip to Sweden. A street in Warendorf is named after Rainer A. Krewereth.
