Rainer Pinnow

Rainer Pinnow (born June 4, 1950 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a retired German doctor and medical officer in the Bundeswehr with the rank of admiralty . From October 1, 2006 to June 30, 2012 he was in his last assignment "Admiral Doctor of the Navy" .

Career

Pinnow entered the Navy as a reserve officer candidate after graduating from high school in 1970 . He studied chemistry and human medicine at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Universität Hamburg . After graduating in 1980, he was employed in surgery and internal medicine at the Bundeswehr Hospital in Hamburg . In 1982 he received his doctorate from the University of Hamburg.

This was followed by assignments as specialist medical service manager at the naval supply school , as head of the Wilhelmshaven marine medical center , at the US National Naval Medical Center , as group leader in the naval office , as head of the medical services (LSD) of the destroyer flotilla and as chief medical officer in the armed forces office . From January 2004 until the start of his last assignment he was head of the Naval Medical Institute of the Navy .

Admiralarzt Pinnow is married and has a daughter and a son.
