Rainer Stolz (born January 22, 1966 in Hamburg ) is a German poet and writer .

After completing his apprenticeship as a publishing clerk , Rainer Stolz studied sociology , psychology , philosophy and pedagogy , while gaining experience in the book trade and publishing industry . Since 2003 he has lived as a freelance writer in Berlin . His fields of work are poetry , language play , aphorism and essay .

As a co-founder of the poetry group “ The joys of the young converter ”, which has been a forum for the Berlin poetry scene for years, he and Stephan Gürtler gave the anthology “Fire, please! Berlin poems about love «. In the Berlin city magazine » tip « he set up the »Lyrik Lounge« section and was responsible for it until 2005. In addition to other joint projects, he co-wrote chain poems ( Renshi ), e. B. in the context of the Poetry Festival Berlin 2006. In 2012 he edited the anthology "Haiku hier und heute" ( dtv ) together with Udo Wenzel . Rainer Stolz has received numerous grants for his poetry , including the Alfred Döblin grant from the Academy of Arts and the Berlin Senate (2005), the grant from the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Foundation (2006) and the Berlin work grant (2007).
