The Prymorsk Raion (Ukrainian Приморський район / Prymorskyj rajon ; Russian Приморский район / Primorski rajon ) is an administrative unit in the Zaporizhia Oblast in southeastern Ukraine . The center of the raion is the city of Prymorsk .
geography
The Rajon is located in the south of the Zaporizhia Oblast , it borders in the north on the Rajon Chernihivka , in the east on the Rajon Berdyansk , in the south on the Azov Sea and in the west on the Rajon Pryasowske . The Losuwatka (Лозуватка), the Obytitschna (Обитічна), the Kiltyschtschja (Кільтиччя), the Korsak (Корсак) and the Chokrak (Чокрака), the Obytitschna (Чокрак) in the south (Обитічак) the Black Sea (Обитічак) rises through the Rajon the area is flat with altitudes between 10 and 190 meters (highest elevation 196 meters) and is characterized in the south by the Black Sea lowlands , in the north extends the Azov highlands .
history
The Rajon was created in 1923 and was initially called Nohajsk Rajon. After the occupation by German troops, the Rajonsgebiet was incorporated into the Reichskommissariat Ukraine in 1942 and was located here in the general district of Dnepropetrovsk , Berdjansk district . After the end of the Second World War it came back to the Soviet Union / Ukrainian SSR , since 1965 after the renaming of the main town to Prymorsk it got its current name, since 1991 it is part of today's Ukraine. Between the end of 1962 and 1965 the Raion was attached to the Berdyansk Raion .
