Ralf Arnie

Ralf Arnie , bourgeois Artur Niederbremer (born February 14, 1924 in Löhne ; † January 19, 2003 in Hamburg ), was a German composer , songwriter and music publisher .

Life

After graduating from the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium in Bünde in 1942 and serving in the war , Arnie was one of the 2,800 Germans interned in Sweden who were extradited to the Soviet Union after the end of the war. He returned from Soviet captivity in 1948 and settled in Hamburg.

Arnie, who also worked under the pseudonym Dieter Rasch, initially worked for the music publishers Sikorski and Ralph Maria Siegel . In 1960 he founded his own publishing house under his name.

Arnie composed and wrote over 1000 songs for almost all well-known pop singers from the 1950s to 1980s. He discovered and produced Udo Lindenberg and Otto Waalkes , among others .

Ralf Arnie lived in Hamburg-Harvestehude from 1952 until his death . He found his final resting place in the Ohlsdorf cemetery . A grave slab there commemorates the pop composer.
