Ralf Braun
Ralf Braun (born January 24, 1973 in Berlin ) is a former German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.92 m tall and 86 kg heavy athlete started for the Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 and for the starting community Coubertin Berlin .

Braun won six German championships:
European championships
At the European Championships in Seville in 1997 , Braun won the 200 m back in 1: 59.91 minutes behind the Russian Vladimir Selkow (gold in 1: 59.21 minutes) and the Italian Emanuele Merisi (silver in 1: 59.63 minutes) .) the bronze medal. Things went even better for him on his parade route two years later in Istanbul , where he was the only finalist under 2 minutes and took the title in 1: 59.74 minutes.
World championships
At the 1998 World Championships in Perth he also started over 200 m back and won the silver medal in 1: 59.23 minutes (World Champion was the American Lenny Krayzelburg in 1: 58.84 minutes).

Braun took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 and in Sydney in 2000 and achieved the following results:

- 100 m back: 7th place in 55.56 seconds ( American Jeff Rouse won gold in 54.10 seconds)
- 200 m back: 18th place in 2: 01.50 minutes (although qualified as third in his heat, but not run to the final)
- 4 × 100 m layer relay (team: Ralf Braun, Mark Warnecke , Christian Keller , Björn Zikarsky , Oliver Lampe and Stev Theloke ): 4th place in 3: 39.64 min. Just behind the third-placed Australians (3: 39.56 min. )
- 2000
- 200 m back: 21st place in 2: 01.35 minutes (eliminated in the preliminary run)
