Ralf Gustke
Ralf Gustke (born May 8, 1964 in Heidelberg ) is a German drummer .
Life
At the age of 10, Ralf Gustke began to play in a marching band and learned to play the rudiments on the snare drum as part of this activity . At the age of 16 he got his first own drum set . In the early 1980s Gustke played with the Heidelberg bands Komazu Baumaschinen GmbH and the Charming Charlies , with percussion in the latter . In 1986 he took 2nd place in the “Drummermeeting Koblenz” competition for young talent. This was followed relatively quickly (from 1987) on the first major tours with Lydie Auvray and Wolf Maahn . Over time, Ralf Gustke developed into a much sought-after studio and live drummer, making him one of the most famous German drummers . He played with Georg Danzer , Gianna Nannini , Chaka Khan , Johannes Nitsch , Schiller , Sabrina Setlur , Edo Zanki , Tom Liwa , Lothar Kosse , Joe Sciacca , Nena , Sharona and many others.
At the moment he is best known for his work with Xavier Naidoo and the sons of Mannheim .

Ralf gets his drum sets from Yamaha , in 2006 he switched from Anatolian Cymbals to Meinl Cymbals , and in the 2010s to Sabian . Ralf also switched from Kit Tools to Vic Firth in 2008, with whom he now also has his signature sticks. He also has his own "signature line":
