Ralf Köttker

Ralf Köttker (born February 16, 1970 in Friesoythe ) is a German sports journalist. Until November 2019 he was Deputy Secretary General and Media Director of the German Football Association .

Life

After completing his master's degree in political science, history and sociology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster , Köttker volunteered at the Axel Springer Academy in Hamburg . After two years in the sports department of the Bild newspaper in Hamburg, he joined the Berliner Morgenpost in 2000 as the editor in charge .

In 2004, Köttker moved to the daily newspaper Die Welt within Axel Springer AG , where he was a national team reporter, among other things. Shortly afterwards he became the head of football for the world newspaper group (Die Welt / Welt am Sonntag / Berliner Morgenpost ).

As a journalist, Köttker accompanied the German national soccer team to the world championships in 2002 and 2006 and the two European championships in 2004 and 2008 .

In 2009, Köttker moved to Frankfurt / Main as editor-in-chief Internet / Publications for the German Football Association (DFB). In addition, he has been the managing director of DFB-Online GmbH since 2010, media director of the DFB since 2011 and its deputy general secretary since April 2016. In November 2019, both sides announced the amicable separation.
