Ralf Päsler

Ralf Päsler (born June 21, 1955 ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and former member of the state parliament in Thuringia .

Life

He attended the 3rd Polytechnic High School (today: Oststadtschule ) in Eisenach and subsequently completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith - but soon after completing his training turned to other employment opportunities. In 1978 he refused to serve in the National People's Army . Between 1981 and 1983 he was a construction soldier and developed measures to save energy and water for his unit.

He found a job at the Evangelical Church in the superintendent of Eisenach and helped out there, among other things, as a craftsman and in various other areas. In the mid-1980s, he joined the parish's environmental protection working group and subsequently took part in community activities such as collecting rubbish in the woods or planting trees. In the late summer of 1988, Päsler and Pastor Christhard Wagner organized a solidarity concert for the imprisoned songwriter Stephan Krawczyk, who was deported to the Federal Republic . However, he was also active against environmental pollution and the overexploitation of nature.
