Ramón Calderón Ramos (born May 26, 1951 in Palencia ) is a Spanish lawyer .

He was elected President of Real Madrid in 2006 with 8,344 votes , while Juan Palacios finished second with 8,098 votes. His first official act was the signing of the Italian coach Fabio Capello and two players from Juventus Turin : Fabio Cannavaro and Emerson . He also piloted Ruud van Nistelrooy from Manchester United and Mahamadou Diarra from Olympique Lyon , as well as the two Argentinians Fernando Gago and Gonzalo Higuaín to Madrid.

His main goal was to ensure that the association belongs exclusively to the members in the long term and therefore cannot be sold.

Calderón resigned as president on January 16, 2009. The sports newspaper Marca had revealed that several false delegates who were not entitled to vote had taken part in the vote to approve the budget.

Calderón admitted the manipulation, but declared that it had nothing to do with it. His tenure in office had been overshadowed by several scandals. The club boss had to be accused of financial irregularities and nepotism. Under Calderón, Real became Spanish champions twice. The successful coaches Fabio Capello and Bernd Schuster were later dismissed despite their title wins.
