Ramona Pagel

Ramona Pagel (born Ebert; born November 10, 1961 in Los Angeles ) is a former American shot putter who also competed in the discus throw .

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, she was eleventh.

In 1985 she was fifth at the World Indoor Athletics Games in Paris , won bronze at the Universiade and was sixth at the World Athletics Cup in Canberra .

In 1987 she was sixth at the World Indoor Championships in Indianapolis , won the Pan American Games in Indianapolis and was eliminated from the qualification at the World Athletics Championships in Rome .

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, she did not get beyond the preliminary round in both the shot put and the discus throw.

From then on she limited herself to the shot put at international championships. In 1989 she was ninth at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest and sixth at the World Cup in Barcelona . In 1991 she came back to ninth place at the World Indoor Championships in Seville , won bronze at the Pan-American Games in Havana and failed to qualify for the World Championships in Tokyo .

She was eleventh at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and twelfth at the 1993 World Cup in Stuttgart. In 1995 she won silver at the Pan American Games in Mar del Plata and was seventh at the World Cup in Gothenburg .

At the end of her career, she was ninth at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

She was five times US champion (1985–1987, 1989, 1991) and six times US indoor champion (1986, 1988–1990, 1994, 1995) in the shot put. In 1984 she won the NCAA title for San Diego State University .
