The Rampenne is a river in France that runs in the Cher department in the Center-Val de Loire region . It rises near the hamlet of La Brosse , in the municipality of Saint-Germain-des-Bois , drains westward in the headwaters, then swings north-west to north and flows around 24 kilometers on the southern outskirts of Bourges , but still in the municipality of Plaimpied-Givaudins into the Plan d'Eau du Val d'Auron reservoir , where it meets the Auron as a left tributary . The rampenne passes under the A71 motorway both in the upper reaches and in the estuary .
